Should I install solar before the 0% VAT ends in March 2027?
Short answer
If you were planning it anyway, installing before 1 April 2027 avoids the 5% VAT due to return then, saving about £300 on a £6,500 system. Government has not legislated an extension as of 24 September 2026. The job must be completed and supplied by the deadline, so allow time for surveys and DNO notification.
