Does a PV array frame need earthing or bonding in the UK?

Short answer

Follow the IET PV Code of Practice decision tree in Section 5.13.2, Figure 5.7. MIS 3002 says correct use normally leads to protective or functional earthing of the array frame, and if the designer decides on neither, the justification must be recorded. Where a lightning protection system exists, design bonding or separation to BS EN 62305.
