What does a customer need from the installer to apply for the Smart Export Guarantee?
Short answer
Customers apply directly to any SEG licensee, not necessarily their own supplier. Licensees normally ask for the MCS certificate or an equivalent for small solar, proof of an export-capable smart meter, and the installation details. Give customers the MCS certificate, DNO notification and system details in the handover pack so they can apply quickly.
