Is module-level rapid shutdown required on UK solar installations?
Short answer
No UK rapid-shutdown requirement like the US NEC rule was found in MIS 3002 issue 6.0, MIS 3002:2025 or the DESNZ plug-in specification. MIS 3002 does require any arc-fault detection function in the inverter to be enabled, and the emergency shutdown procedure must be displayed. Module-level power electronics remain a design choice for shading or firefighter concerns.
