Can I get a grant or export payment for plug-in balcony solar?
Short answer
No grant or guaranteed export payment exists. Plug-in solar up to 800 W became legal in Great Britain on 27 August 2026, but kits are self-installed without an MCS certificate, so suppliers are not obliged to pay SEG. Retail kits also normally carry 20% VAT because the zero rate covers installed materials.
