Can I get a Home Energy Scotland loan for solar panels or a battery?
Short answer
Not any more. Home Energy Scotland's grant and loan table, checked 24 September 2026, has no standalone solar PV or battery storage funding; new solar and battery applications closed in June 2024. Only hybrid PV-T solar water heating can get an interest-free loan of up to £5,000. The UK-wide Warm Homes loan is the alternative.
