Will solar panels improve my EPC rating?

Short answer

Usually yes. Current EPCs, calculated with SAP and RdSAP, credit solar generation, so panels typically lift the score by several points. EPC reform will replace the single A to G rating with four measures including energy cost and smart readiness; the government has moved the launch to the second half of 2027.
