Do I need permission from the network operator to fit solar?
Short answer
If all your inverters, including any battery, add up to 16 A per phase or less (3.68 kW single-phase), the installer connects and notifies the network operator within 28 days under G98. Above that, G99 applies and the operator must respond before installation, sometimes with an export limit.
