My SMA inverter has a red light - how do I find the error?
Short answer
A red LED on an SMA Sunny Boy means an event has occurred. Open the SMA Energy app, Sunny Portal (ennexOS) or the inverter's web interface to read the event number and message, such as Event 202 'Grid incident'. Check the solar circuit breaker is on, note the event and time, and contact your installer if it recurs.
