Can I get free solar panels and a battery from my council?
Short answer
In England, yes if you qualify for the Warm Homes: Local Grant: a privately owned home rated EPC D to G and household income of £36,000 or less, or certain benefits. Councils can fund solar and, alongside it, a battery. Owner-occupiers pay nothing. Apply through GOV.UK; your council contacts you within ten working days.
