Will solar panels damage my roof?

Short answer

Done properly, no. On tiles and slates, hooks are screwed into the rafters using an MCS 012 certified kit, tiles are trimmed or flashed so no new gaps appear, and hooks must not load or crack the tiles. Problems usually come from poor practice, so ask how fixings, flashing and broken tiles are handled.
