How long do solar panels last?

Short answer

Typically 25 to 30 years or more, gradually losing output rather than failing outright. Performance warranties now commonly run 25 to 30 years, product warranties 12 to 25 years, and inverters usually need replacing after 10 to 15 years. Plan for at least one inverter swap and occasional repairs to connectors, isolators and bird-proofing.
