Do I have to get my export tariff from my electricity supplier?
Short answer
No. Ofgem says your SEG licensee can be a different company from your import supplier. However, the best-paying export tariffs usually require you to buy electricity from the same supplier, or to have bought panels or a battery from them. Basic open SEG tariffs pay roughly 3-6p per kWh.
