Why is my GivEnergy showing a 'grid fault' or INV_NO_UTILITY?
Short answer
INV_NO_UTILITY or STORAGE_ERROR_NO_UTILITY means the GivEnergy inverter cannot detect the grid. Look for a power cut and check that the AC isolator and consumer-unit breaker are on. 'Grid voltage too high/low' means the supply is outside limits. GivEnergy says to check the AC connections, then contact the DNO. Loose terminals are an installer job.

What does this mean?
Alarm names come from the GivEnergy portal list (KB article 71). Grid alarms clear automatically once the supply is normal. Since 9 Apr 2026 GivEnergy Ltd is in administration; contact your installer for support.
What should I do first?
Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
What to do next
If the system is hot, smoking, damaged or making unusual electrical noises, move away from it and follow the manufacturer emergency guidance.
