What does a red light on my GivEnergy battery mean?
Short answer
On a Giv-Bat 9.5 Gen 3, a red light means a fault has been logged. The manual says to call GivEnergy for remote diagnostics. Since GivEnergy Ltd went into administration on 9 April 2026, go to your installer instead. The cloud portal still works. Don't open the battery or update its firmware while it is in a fault state.

What does this mean?
Four green LEDs show state of charge in 25% bands. GivEnergy Software Ltd (portal) was not in administration.
What should I do first?
Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
What to do next
If the system is hot, smoking, damaged or making unusual electrical noises, move away from it and follow the manufacturer emergency guidance.
