My Growatt APX battery shows a red light - is it safe?
Short answer
It depends which fault the light means. Growatt's APX manual says a red light on the power module or a battery module means a fault. For voltage-sampling, current-sampling, main-circuit, EEPROM and chip faults, it says there is a safety risk: stop using the battery and call the installer. Temperature and high-voltage protections clear on their own.

What does this mean?
A flashing green light is only an alarm. A PCS communication failure carries no safety risk; check the inverter is switched on.

Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
