Why is my GivEnergy battery not charging?
Short answer
Check that the battery isn't paused in the app, the isolator handle is up, and the lights are green. Check charge slots, reserve and temperature, since charging pauses below 0 °C. Then restart the inverter and battery as GivEnergy's guide describes. If grid data is missing from the app, a meter problem is likely and needs the installer.

What does this mean?
Portal alarms 'battery-not-charging' / 'battery-not-discharging' recommend restart then support. Export First mode can make it look as if the battery isn't discharging. Smart-tariff integrations (e.g. Octopus) can lock inverter settings.
What should I do first?
Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
What to do next
If the system is hot, smoking, damaged or making unusual electrical noises, move away from it and follow the manufacturer emergency guidance.
