Daikin Altherma: a homeowner’s guide
Controls, service intervals and where to find your model number.
Start with the model. Record the model numbers of the outdoor unit and the indoor unit, and the settings on the controller. The exact performance depends on the model and system design, so check the manufacturer’s operating range for your model rather than relying on a general claim.
Controls: a heat pump is most efficient when it can maintain temperature gently. Your installer should explain how thermostatic radiator valves, room thermostats and weather compensation interact in your particular design.
Weather compensation adjusts heating-water temperature as outdoor conditions change. In colder weather the system raises the flow temperature; in milder weather it lowers it.
Servicing: keep the commissioning documents from your installer, and follow Daikin’s homeowner guidance for your exact system.
If the controller shows 7H, the system is not detecting enough water moving through the heating circuit (official meaning: insufficient water flow). If the fault persists or heating is unavailable, ask a Daikin-experienced engineer to assess the system.
