Why does my Solis inverter show CAN-COM or BAT-COM with Duracell 5+ batteries?
Short answer
Duracell Energy says a Duracell 5+ battery paired with a Solis RAI inverter needs ferrite loops on the DC power cables and the communication cable to stop CAN-COM or BAT-COM alarms. It is an installation fix: your installer adds the ferrites close to the inverter. Until then the battery may drop out. Checked 24 September 2026.

What does this mean?
DC cables: 5 loops positive and 5 negative through the blue ferrite Comms cable: 5 turns through two stacked small black ferrites

Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
What to do next
If the system is hot, smoking, damaged or making unusual electrical noises, move away from it and follow the manufacturer emergency guidance.
