Why does my Sofar show ID85 and the battery isn't discharging?
Short answer
SOFAR ID85 means the battery has reached the minimum charge set by the depth-of-discharge setting, or its voltage is low. With DOD set to 30%, ID85 appears once charge falls below 70%. The inverter stops discharging to protect battery life, which is normal. If the reserve seems too high, ask your installer to review the DOD setting.

What does this mean?
ID52 = lithium battery BMS communication failure (check compatibility, battery type, CAN cable).
What should I do first?
Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
What to do next
If the system is hot, smoking, damaged or making unusual electrical noises, move away from it and follow the manufacturer emergency guidance.
