My inverter shows a battery communication error with Pylontech batteries - what now?
Short answer
Pylontech batteries talk to the inverter over CAN or RS485. A comms error on a Solis, Sunsynk, Lux or Victron system usually means a wrong cable, wrong DIP switch setting, missing CAN termination or the wrong battery type selected in the inverter. The battery then may not charge. These are installer checks. Checked 24 September 2026.

What does this mean?
DIP1 sets RS485 baud (restart after change); DIP2 CAN terminal resistance (0 in single group) Use CAN-H, CAN-L and GND only Lux shows W000 'Bat Com Fault'; Victron shows Err 67 or DVCC warnings
What should I do first?
Record the code and current battery state before changing settings. Follow only the owner-safe reset steps in the manual.
When do I need an engineer?
Use an installer or manufacturer support route if the fault returns, involves isolation or protection, or the manual does not give an owner reset.
What to do next
If the system is hot, smoking, damaged or making unusual electrical noises, move away from it and follow the manufacturer emergency guidance.
